Snowy Owl

 

Linnean classification: Eukarya, Animalia, Chordata, Aves, Strigiformes, Strigidae, Bubo, Bubo scandiacus

 

Regulator because it is a warm blooded organism and is able to maintain optimum temperature needed for its body to function.

 

Migration because many migrate in winter to southern Canada and the northern half of the contiguous United States.

 

Consumer because it is a heterotroph and cannot make its own food and must get nutrients from other organisms.

 

Carnivore because its diet mainly consists of meat.

 

Generalist because it can survive in a wide range of environmental conditions

 

Niche: Snowy owls generally live in Northernmost Canada, Alaska. They eat hares, fish, shorebirds, voles, mice, rats, ptarmigan, marmots, squirrels, rabbits, ducks, prairie dogs, rats, but mostly Lemmings.
