Bald Eagle

 

Linnean Classification: Eukarya, Animalia, Chordata, Aves, Accipitriformes, Accipitridae, Haliaeetus, Haliaeetus leucocephalus

 

Migration because it may migrate south during the winter months to areas with sufficient food.

 

Regulator because they are warm blooded and are able to maintain constant internal conditions in regards to the  body temperature.

 

Consumer because it does not have the ability to make its own food and must rely on other organisms such as fish.

 

Carnivore because a majority of its diet consists of meat such as fish.

 

Generalist because it has the ability to survive in a wide range of

environmental conditions.

 

Niche: The bald eagle resides in North America near swamps, lakes, oceans, and rivers. It feeds on fish, small animals like ducks, coots, muskrats, turtles, rabbits, snakes, and occasionally dead animals. Fish make up 90% of their diet.
